In an attempt to highlight one of the most significant periods in the life of the prominent French artist Guillaume Apollinaire, until July 13, 2016, the Musée de l’Orangerie holds a very interesting exhibition entitled “Apollinaire, the Eyes of the Poet”.
About Guillaume Apollinaire:
Apollinaire was born on August 26, 1880, in Rome, Italy. He was best-known for inventing the term “Cubism” in 1911, “Orphism” in 1912, and the term “Surrealism” in 1917. Today, he is regarded as one of the most accomplished artists of his era and a key figure in the history of France.
About the exhibition “Apollinaire, the Eyes of the Poet” :
“Apollinaire, the Eyes of the Poet” draws attention to the period between 1902 and 1918 in Apollinaire’s life, an important period that had a profound effect on his career as a writer, poet, and art critic. It is curated by Laurence des Cars, Claire Bernardi, and Cécile Girardeau.
