Located in the 6th arrondissement of Paris on the left bank of the Seine, until August 1, 2016, the Musée national Eugène Delacroix, also called Musée Delacroix, is home to an interesting exhibition devoted to the French Romantic artist Eugène Delacroix (1798–1863): Delacroix as a Model.
Born on April 26th, 1798, at Charenton-Saint-Mauricea, a commune situated in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, France, Delacroix is probably the most renowned and controversial French painter of the first half of the 19th century, who was best known for his startling originality and vivid imagination.
The exhibition Delacroix as a Model will give visitors the opportunity to discover for the first time some recent acquisitions such like the interpretation of Women of Algiers in their Apartment (Femmes d’Alger dans leur appartement) by the French painter and lithographer, Henri Fantin-Latour (1836–1904).
Delacroix as a Model is organized by Dominique de Font-Réaulx, a senior curator at the Musée du Louvre and the director of the Eugène Delacroix museum, and assisted by Albane Fabre and Marie-Christine Mégevand.
Guests staying at our hotel, Hotel Louvre Marsollier Opera Paris will be within a 10-minute drive from Musée Delacroix.
