The Opera de Paris invites visitors from March 07 until July 16, 2017, to take pleasure in attending one of the finest 19th-century opéras-comiques, at the Opera Bastille, Carmen by the prolific composer Georges Bizet.
About the Show:
In a performance led by the talented conductors Lionel Bringuier and Mark Elder, Carmen will be presented by highly talented operatic singers including Clémentine Margaine (March), Varduhi Abrahamyan (April), Anita Rachvelishvili (from June to July 13), and Elīna Garanča (July 16), in the title role.
About the Opera:
Carmen was originated from the French author Prosper Mérimée’s novella of the same title and written by both French opera librettists Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy. It was performed for the first time, on 3 March 1875, at the Opéra-Comique, in Paris, and succeeded to become one of the most frequently performed operas, though it was subject to fierce criticism, following the premiere, because of its breaking of conventions.
The Hotel Louvre Marsollier Opera Paris is not too far from the Opera Bastille, which makes it an excellent opportunity for our guests to see this wonderful must-see new show of this amazing opera.
