Who would think, arriving to Montmartre from the Eastern flank of the hill, that here nests on of Paris’s chicest culinary gems? The area itself, with its constant buzz of multiethnic activity, from African hair-dressers to Moroccan peppermint-scented tea parlors, provides for one-minute exotic travels at every street corner, as far from your Hotel Marsollier as you could imagine… and yet so close! However, a little way up the hill, it is a more refined form of travel that awaits at the Chamarré.
Chef Antoine Heerah hails from Mauritius, and carries with him the heirloom of his cultural breeding: sights of azure islands and tropical volcanic peaks, fragrances of curry and sunny beaches. All this, he is honored to share with you through his cuisine, here in Montmartre.
Heerah’s creations favor seafood (of course – although more earthly choices of fine meat are always on the menu), which he accommodates with audacious blends of spice and exotic fruit and vegetables. If you are willing to be surprised and delighted, you may opt for the Chef’s selection, a menu comprised of 2 entrées, 2 main courses, and a dessert, the choice of each being left to the chef’s discretion… And on any normal day, the Chef himself shall drop by your table at the end of your meal. So, ready for a night on the Indian Ocean?
