Until January 15th, 2018, the Louvre Museum will be holding an exhibition that puts under the spotlight Dutch Art in France under the reign of François I (from 1515 until his death in 1547).
Being extremely fond of art, and especially the art of The Netherlands, King François I surrounded himself with some of the most talented Dutch artists like Jean Clouet, Corneille de La Haye, and Joos van Cleve, who mostly specialized in portraits. in addition to other artists who are less known today such as Godefroy le Batave, Grégoire Guérard, Noël Bellemare, and Bartholomeus Pons.
From painting to stained-glass to sculpture, the diversity of the works chosen will leave you breathless. You will also enjoy discovering a nice collection of tapestries, as well as jewel pieces and Dutch paintings that were purchased by the king. So, be there!
Our Hotel Louvre Marsollier Opera Paris is within a short walking distance from the Louvre.
