From May 20th to June 12th, 2016, enjoy a memorable night listening to a new production of one of the finest operas at Palais Garnier opera house, Lear, a wonderful opera composed by the German composer Aribert Reimann.
Originated from William Shakespeare’s renowned tragedy King Lear, Lear is written by the famous librettist, Claus H. Henneberg. It was performed for the first time on July 9th, 1978 at the National Theatre Munich, under the conduction of the German conductor Gerd Albrecht.
The show at Palais Garnier will gather the Grammy Award-Winning conductor Fabio Luisi and the renowned Spanish director Calixto Bieito. It also assembles a group of professional singers including Bo Skovhus, Gidon Saks, Andreas Scheibner, Michael Colvin, Kor-Jan Dusseljee, Lauri Vasar, Andrew Watts, Andreas Conrad, Ricarda Merbeth, Erika Sunnegardh, Annette Dasch, Kathrin Wehlisch, Nicolas Marie, and Lucas Prisor.
Lear lasts around 3 hours with only one interval. It is sung in German and provided with French and English surtitles.
