After being showcased from September 10th, 2015 to February 7th, 2016, at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the retrospective exhibition Picasso.Sculpture is finally at the Musée National Picasso-Paris, from March 8th to August 28th, 2016.
Picasso.Sculpture sheds light on the variety of dimensions of Pablo Picasso’s sculptural work, an aspect that will be highlighted through his series and variations, casts, reproductions, and photographic enlargements, originated from the artist’s original sculptures.
Featuring approximately 240 pieces, Picasso.Sculpture is considered to be the largest public display of the artist’s sculptural works since the Picasso Sculpteur (Picasso Sculptor) exhibition at the Centre Pompidou, in 2000.
Indeed, it gathers impressive collections of Picasso including the Verres d’absinthe series (1914), Baigneurs (1956), bronze casts, and a variation of metal sculptures (1960).
This exhibition is curated by Virginie Perdrisot.
