From June 13th through September 24th, 2017, the Musée d’Orsay is hosting “Portraits by Cézanne”, a major touring exhibition that is devoted to works by the popular French Post-Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne (1839 – 1906).
Organized by the Musée d’Orsay, Paris, the National Portrait Gallery in London and the National Gallery of Art of Washington, the exhibition aims mainly at exploring the pictorial and thematic characteristics of Cézanne’s paintings. It also spotlights the artist’s use of complementary pairs as well as his creation of multiple versions of the same subject.
More than 50 portraits from various collections across the world will be on view, including notable portraits of his Uncle Dominique and Vallier.
Just don’t hesitate to attend this special exhibition if you’re staying at our Hotel Louvre Marosollier Opera Paris this summer!
