The Domaine de Saint Cloud, on the fancy Western outskirts of Paris, was the first park to be awarded the status of national heritage. Le Nôtre himself designed the traditional French gardens and woods that line the Seine river banks.
Every last weekend of August since 2003, this has been the unexpected setting of one of the foremost rock festivals in Europe. 3 days, 5 stages, and 54 concerts, that’s what you’re signing up for with Rock en Seine 2011! Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Interpol, Cocorosies, Archive, Deftones, Anne Calvi, Simple Plan… all are in this year’s line-up.
Rock en Seine> stands out for providing music fans with both top of the bill bands and brilliant discoveries. Over the years, the festival also got its share of behind the scenes (tragic) anecdotes, including Oasis breaking up after having an argument backstage.
