If you get a craving for tapas during your trip to Paris, there is one spot in the center of town that will satisfy you. At 7 Rue Simon le Franc in the 4th arrondissement, a restaurant called Uniq Lounge opened in September 2013. With a mission to create a New York loft style ambiance, the restaurant offers an outdoor patio that is perfect for the Parisian spring and summer days that will soon be unfolding.
To go along with the delicious tapas, the Uniq Lounge also provides spot-on cocktails ranging from the classic to the innovative and unusual. But first, a little bit more about those tasty tapas. The menu is divided into two sections: salty tapas and sweet tapas.
On the salty side, patrons can choose, for example, a gourmet brioche platter served with fois gras, duck breast and fried onions. Other choices include ravioli, escargot, brie cheese, minced and marinated eggplant on grilled toast, shrimp with mushroom sauce, salmon, potatoes with goat cheese and duck, and green pea mousse.
If that were not enough, the sweet side of the meal gives diners an equally tantalizing choice. Fruit crumbles, mint mousse with a chocolate shell, sweet rice and kiwi wrapped maki-style in a crepe and specialty French pastries allows patrons to end their meals on a sweet note.
Guests staying at the Hôtel Louvre Marsollier will find that they are very close to the Uniq Lounge, making a trip to the tapas joint incredibly easy. For those who cannot make up their minds the “Menu Découverte” offers the choice of five salty or sweet tapas and one cocktail for €30. Meat and cheese plates are also on hand for easy sharing amongst friends and family. As a result, the Uniq Lounge makes for a great pit stop during a day of sightseeing in the City of Light.
