The apartment of the crown princess Marie Leszczynska has recently been reopening at the Palace of Versailles. This is the perfect opportunity for the palace to stage an exhibition all about this Queen of France so that we can learn a little more about her.
If you were to take a look at all of the models and figures in artwork in a major gallery, how many of those figures would be white and how many would be black? There is a good chance that the vast majority – if not all of the subjects in some older collections are white. In this show, there are 100 pieces on display, including some from Manet, Cezanne, Matisse and Gauguin.
This show, which continues until November 3rd, offers the ideal chance to learn more about this darker side of the Paris war-time art scene. Furthermore, family members and members of the Jewish community can come and meet experts to learn more about lost items. Don’t miss out!
Visitors are encouraged to come and make up their own minds about the mood and message of these paintings and to see this Danish master in a new light. The show “Hammershøi, the master of danish painting” has already opened and will continue at the gallery until the 22nd of July.
