The Musée Maillol in Paris has just reopened to the public with plans to bring a little “normality” back to the world of culture and the arts. However, things are far from normal here. Aside from the fact that social distancing and restrictions are sure to be in place, there is also the subject matter. The Museum has gone with the bold idea theme of spirituality and the afterlife with an exhibition called “Spirit, are you there? The Painters of the Beyond”.
One of the most interesting factors of this show is the idea to bring in faiths and ideas from a wide range of cultures. In addition to practices of today, including Christianity and Hinduism, there are also ancient ideas. We get to see examples of contemporary and outsider art as well as video installations. This is one of those exhibitions where you will need to have an open mind and a keen desire to learn. You can do so from now until the 1st of November.
