There are sure to be many art lovers that were disappointed to hear that the Cézanne and the Master Painters: A Dream of Italy exhibition had to close for the season. But, while Coronavirus may have robbed us of the chance to see these incredible pieces, the closure was only temporary. The Musée Marmotttan Monet is back open to the public and they have extended the run of this show until the beginning of January to compensate.
As the name suggests, we get the privilege of a look at some of the best Italian artists from the 16th to 19th centuries. Cezanne is the central figure, with other artists present as a means of comparison and context. The first section looks at the contemporaries of Cezanne and the latter at the influence on those that followed. With sixty pieces to see, this is sure to be a valuable art history lesson for Cezanne fans. Don’t miss out.
