If the end of summer holidays goes with the return of Parisians to their home, we are back today to unveil some activities awaiting you.
Let’s begin September with summer vibes
September is synonymous with a fresh start, but also with discoveries and a new year to explore. Even if this perspective seems tempting, it is nevertheless a bit nostalgic that we find our way back to work.
As each month, the Louvre Marsollier Hotel takes you on a tour of unusual places and activities in the French capital.
A shiny exhibition
To begin September, we invite you to discover the exhibition Shiny Gold, a world premiere produced by the Gaité Lyrique. This immersive exhibition takes us back to our childhood with playful discoveries.
Nelly Ben Hayoun-Stépanian, the artist behind this initiative, is guided by her strong taste for play and her attraction for science.
Until November, we can enjoy her work combining sculptures, inflatable structures and sound immersion. A playful way for children to learn about their environment and the fragile balance of our ecosystem.
Any instructions to discover this exhibition? Listen, touch, explore, crawl, climb, but above all keep your hands out of your pockets. Shiny Gold should be discovered with the senses and will fascinate young and old alike.
A sweet aperitif
It is outdoor that our program is now taking place. Thinking back to summer evenings, we can’t escape the aperitif hour. To prolong the holidays, forget the seaside, and climb to a Parisian rooftop. Located at the top of the BHV Marais, Le Perchoire Marais offers a panoramic view of the architectural treasures of the City of Light.

Snacks, cocktails and, above all, a large dose of happiness await you to continue your holiday. The opportunity to swap flip-flops and swimming costumes for urban jungle and exchanges with the other privileged visitors of this spot. Our advice? Perched on the 6th floor, it’s at sunset that the city takes on its most beautiful colours, giving you a few more minutes to relive your summer evenings.
A day to share
An unmissable event is coming back in Paris to enchant us once again on 17 and 18 September. It is of course the Journées européennes du Patrimoine (European Heritage Days), a unique event in the world. Monuments, libraries, theatres and other cultural venues open their doors to the public. It’s the perfect opportunity to go behind the scenes of these iconic Parisian places for free. This year, the tours will focus on sustainable heritage, an essential theme in the current ecological context.

This inspiring theme has been fully adopted by the Ville de Paris (City of Paris), which will enjoy a car-free capital on 18 September. This initiative responds both to the climate needs and to the insatiable desire to discover the capital freely. Whether on the Champs-Elysées, in the Marais or on the Grands Boulevards, the capital is finally within reach.
The well beloved wine tasting
For those who are thirsty for discovery, our visit of the month ends in a historic location, Les Caves du Louvre. Secret place, with a magical atmosphere and a subdued ambience, it is above all the passion for wine that brings visitors together. Formerly the cellar of one of King Louis XV’s favourite wine merchants, these tunnels led directly to the Palais du Louvre and provided supplies for the place.
Today, tasting sessions are organised there, between historical alcoves and settings straight out of an imaginary world. Secrets of wine making, flavours and aromas are revealed by talented sommeliers, virtuosos of this gustatory art. Book your sessions online and enjoy your new school year devoted to discovery.
The Louvre Marsollier Opéra Hotel wishes you a recovery full of exploration and new experiences in the French capital.
