The Musée du Luxembourg has announced that one of their highly-anticipated shows for 2020 now has new dates for a relaunch in 2021. While it is a shame that we have to wait a little longer to see these amazing pieces of art, it is sure to be worth the wait. Femmes Peintres is a show that focuses on the work of a series of women artists and the impact of the French Revolution on their output.
The tag line for this show is “des artistes comme les autres” or “artists like others”. This suggests a celebration of women as being equal to men in terms of their talent and their ability to express what they saw in this turbulent era. Visitors will also get a historic insight into what it was like to train during this period and the lives of these artists. It is now set to run from March 3rd to July 4th 2021.
