Palais Galliera, City of Paris Fashion Museum, will be hosting, until January 7th, 2018, “Fortuny, a Spaniard in Venice”, a retrospective that presents works of the Spanish fashion designer Mariano Fortuny (1871 – 1949).
Held as part of the Spanish Season, the exhibit features more than one hundred fabrics designed by Fortuny, including the ‘Delphos gown’ (1909), and many other unique pieces worn by famous women such as Countess Greffulhe, Eleonora Duse, Oona Chaplin, and Ellen Terry.
“Fortuny, a Spaniard in Venice” offers you a great opportunity to discover the originality of the work of this fine leading designer as well as his refined style which is mostly inspired by the Japanese, the Byzantine, and the Persian styles.
The museum is located in the heart of Paris, near the Jardins du Trocadéro and the city’s most renowned landmarks. So, don’t think twice and consider visiting this interesting exhibit.
