Paris has the feel of a ghost town right now. If you are able to get outside to carry out essential tasks or head to work, you will have noticed that everything is quiet and closed for business. But, all is not lost. Ongoing cancellations and restrictions may make it difficult to stay positive but we can work on this mindset and find the positives amid the chaos.
How to stay positive in the time of Coronavirus COVID-19.
The first thing to do is to remember that this is temporary. Nothing lasts forever and this outbreak won’t either. This can be difficult to imagine when all we see are stories about closures, new cases and death rates. But, China’s rate of new cases keeps falling, they appear to be over the worst of it. Paris can hold on and fight through this. At the moment, Paris is going through a 15-day lockdown. This is our temporary present situation.
So, what can you do within this time?
If you are working from home, what can you achieve or learn in your spare time? We might not be able to go out and visit art galleries but we can create art of our own. We can express our frustrations or work from photos from happier times. We can devote more time to studying something. Find some free online courses in a subject that interests you and work towards a clear goal. Maybe you can start to learn a new language as you plan for your next trip abroad once this is all over. Take some time to work on those interior design projects you held off, get creative with your cooking as you find the lighter side to any restrictions at the grocery store.
Every situation has a glimmer of light and hope to it and we need to hold onto that. Paris and its people will come out of this stronger and will take back the city eventually. Until then, know that you can use this time for personal growth and look for those positive moments.
