Sculpture is an art form that doesn’t always get the same amount of love and appreciation in major shows as something like painting or photography. You might get the odd piece here or there to compliment a show or a small exhibition somewhere. The Monnaie de Paris is blowing that trend out of the water with an impressive show dedicated to one contemporary American sculptor.
Kiki Smith has worked in many different mediums across her career and now nearly 100 of these pieces will be on show at the gallery. They include pieces made from bronze, plaster and other traditional materials as well as some wax and glass works. Visitors will get the chance to explore the pieces over two floors and will even be greeted by two sculpture when they enter the building. This is a great show for those that want to explore a different medium. You can do so until the 9th of February 2020.
