The musée des impressionnismes Giverny is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary. So, they decided what better way to do so than to bring together two leading names in French impressionism. Half of this new exhibition is dedicated to the work of the well-known master Monet. It is a chance to see some of his best landscape painting under one roof. Opposite these are a series from Jean Francis Auburtin. This lesser-known painter headed to many of the same locations and took inspiration from Monet as he honed his craft. Therefore, this is the ideal opportunity to compare the two artists side by side. Is there a clear case of the student and the master ? Or, will visitors find themselves more drawn to the work of Auburtin ?
The show runs from March 22nd to July 14th and is a great opportunity for art lovers to see a common theme of impressionism from another angle. Make the most of the opportunity while you can.
