« Trompe-la-mort » is a new contemporary opera in two acts by the famous Italian composer Luca Francesconi.
Running from March 13 until April 05, 2017, at the popular opera house Palais Garnier, « Trompe-la-mort » will be presented under the baton of Susanna Mälkki, in a performance staged by the renowned opera director Guy Cassiers.
The opera, which is originated from The Splendors and Miseries of Courtesans from Honoré de Balzac’s series of novels The Human Comedy, has not only its music but also its libretto written by Francesconi. It unites the orchestra and choir of the Opéra National de Paris as well as a group of brilliant operatic singers including Laurent Naouri, Julie Fuchs, Cyrille Dubois, Jean-Philippe Lafont, Ildiko Komlosi, Philippe Talbot, Chiara Skerath, Béatrice Uria Monzon, Christian Helmer, Rodolphe Briand, François Piolino, and Laurent Alvaro.
« Trompe-la-mort » lasts for 2 hours and doesn’t include any breaks.
