Until May 22, 2017, the Louvre will be housing « Valentin de Boulogne: Beyond Caravaggio », the first monographic exhibition of Valentin de Boulogne, the 17th-century French painter and follower of the Italian Baroque painter Caravaggio.
Organized by the Louvre Museum, in partnership with the Metropolitan Museum of Art, « Valentin de Boulogne: Beyond Caravaggio » gives prominence to this great artist by presenting a selection of his finest works, which inspired many great realist painters who marked the 19th century.
